Put a Flower On It!

Emily Midgett

Hi there!! Emily Midgett here with you today to share one of my projects using one of the new flowers from the 2019 Catalog release! As you might know already, flowers are my jam, and we have so many new flowers for this catalog... I am in love! One of these new sets is the Arum Lily, which I've always called Calla Lily. I colored this pretty lily in a unique shade of deep raspberry and created a vase for it using an unexpected die set. Let's get started with the details!

I began by stamping the new Arum Lily using Intense Black ink on some Copic-friendly card stock. I then colored the images using Copic markers, adding lots of extra attention to the shading in the center of the lily. I fussy cut it, then die cut a vase for it using the new Hot Air Balloons Infinity Dies from some Lovely Layering Paper. I trimmed a bit of the balloon off to create a more rounded shape, then arranged the lilies in the "vase" and adhered them all together.

Next, I used the new Plum card stock to die cut a beautiful "happy" die cut using the new Happy Fancy Die. (Aren't the new card stock colors simply divine? I am in loooove.) I added a few sentiment strips stamped with greetings from the Mix and Match Compliments stamp set. I layered everything on the white A2 card base using foam tape for lots of dimension, then added some Crystal Lacquer to the "happy" die cut to add even more texture and to help the die cut word stand out from the colored blooms.

Well, that's all for me today! I hope you're enjoying all of the new goodies from the latest Hero Arts catalog... so many wonderful new stamp and die sets, not to mention the luscious new card stock! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the start of the March My Monthly Hero countdown! Have a marvelous day!

Gorgeous card Emily and very inventive thinking by using the Hot Air Balloons die for a vase. I love the colours you used.
