March Greetings and St. Patrick's Day Wishes!
Happy St. Patty’s Day my friends! I love any occasion to celebrate, decorate or send a card and this new March Word Fancy Die is just perfect for that. Though I have created this particular card for St. Patrick’s Day, it really can be used for anything that happens in the month of March, like a birthday, anniversary, etc. Today I am giving a brief visual tutorial of how I created this card, specifically with the gold shadowing. This is probably one of my favorite techniques to use because it is quick, easy, clean and makes the card look professional. Oh, and it doesn’t take very many supplies!
To get started, cut out the image from a piece of 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” cardstock. Remove the die cut paper and cut two more “March” designs, one from gold poster board and one from green glittered cardstock.
Adhere the white sentiment onto the gold poster board, allowing a bit of the gold to peek out. I like to use spray adhesive to do this but sticker sheets work well too.
Next, use a 5 1/2” x 4 1/2” side folded Dove White card with the long side as the top. Apply Green Apple Reactive Ink to the card front using a foam dauber.
Now it’s just assembly!
Because I like dimension, I used foam dots to apply the negative image of the sentiment onto the colored card. I used foam dots again to add the green glittered cardstock pieces into the swirls forming the word, “March”. Gold sequins gave it the finishing touch.
Fun little tip here…All the pieces that you die cut that you didn’t use can be reworked into another card. Pretty sure you could make nearly 3 cards from the parts and pieces.
As always, so appreciate you popping in. Hope you will share your cards with us at Hero Arts!
