January My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

Janette Kausen

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the January My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, January 7th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here through the weekend, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as the new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Janette for another look at this sweet kit.

This month's kit is so cheerful, it can't help but make you smile! Of course it can be used to create Valentine's projects, but the delightful spring feel is just darling and can be used for so much more. Is there ever a bad time to say I love you?

Begin by stamping the shop front in Cup O' Joe Mid-Tone Shadow ink for a dark, but more vintage feel than black, image on Kraft Layering Paper. Fussy cut center window or use kit included die. Color image, except awning, with colored pencils.

Stamp additional shop front in the same way and color awning with colored pencils. Fussy cut awning and adhere with dimensional adhesive over main image.

Stamp accessories in black and color simply with Copic markers, or again with colored pencils, if you prefer. Die cut images and adhere in place, some with dimensional adhesive, some without. Heat emboss kit included sentiment in white.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, January 7th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

I can't wait to see what you create! Happy crafting and we'll see you soon!

What an awesome card! I especially like the way you colored the awning.

Oh my goodness Janette! This card has just sold me on the kit!! I LOVE it!!!

Would send this card to remind my son of his honeymoon in Paris, as if he needed reminding.

Making your card from Kraft card stock changes everything! I love the way it looks like the card is from a time long ago, when putting the same thing on white wouldn’t achieve the same look. Perhaps your inspiration will remind me that I don’t always have to stamp on white and sometimes there are some better and more beautiful choices! Thank you for today’s post!

Love how the awning stands out with your beautiful coloring and shading! Can’t wait to see this whole release!!
