Video: Sunset and Sea Ink Blending
Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card and video to share with you using the beautiful new Earth Nature Fancy Die with Frame. This die can be used in lots of different ways but I thought it would be fun to create a sunset in the sky and sea at the bottom using ink blending.
Here is the video showing how I created the card:
If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.
I started off by die cutting the Earth Nature Fancy Die with Frame on to a 4" x 5.25" panel of Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock. I removed the frame portion on the die, so that I created a window on the panel. I then took a panel of Hero Hues Dove White Cardstock and used this to create the ink blending on.
I took a Nesting Circle Infinity Die and cut this from masking paper. This was added to the panel to create the sun. I then masked off the bottom portion of the card base and blended above for the sunset sky. I used Lemon Drop, Creamsicle and Fruit Punch Reactive Inks. I removed the masked sun and blended the Lemon Drop Reactive Ink over this. I then masked off the sky and blended inks for the sea. I used Splash, Blue Hawaii and Grape Slush. I spritzed on some White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and set it aside to dry.
I added foam tape on to the back of the die cut window piece and adhered it on to the ink blended panel. The piece was then added to an A2 sized card base made from Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock. I took the sentiment from the Beautiful World set and stamped it on to more black cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with tape runner.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a wonderful day!
