Video: Framed Water Lilies

Mar 14, 2022 Mindy Eggen

Hello friends! It's Mindy with you today to share inspiration using the new Impressionist Water Lilies HeroScape set from the March My Monthly Hero release.

You can view the video tutorial down below or HERE on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.

In my video today, I'm also showing you how you can layer your inks to get new colors.

One of the reasons I love this set is because if you have a hard time lining up images, this set kind of embraces it.

While the stamp set layers images, I also thought I'd add a bit of blending behind the stamped image. You could start with colored cardstsock as well for a similar look. I started by lightly blending on Tide Pool ink using my blending brush.

The colors I'm using today to stamp my water lilies are Tide Pool, Ultra Pink, Green Apple, and Aquatic

I could have used this as my card front but I wanted to add a bit of texture to the background.

I framed the image with the Museum Frame Fancy Die, trimmed out my painting and added to a panel of white woodgrain cardstock. If you don't have any woodgrain cardstock, you can create your own using the Woodgrain Texture Fancy Die

This card is finished off with a beautiful sentiment from the Dream Messages stamp set stamped in Intensified Black ink. I love how trimming it down to a rectangle and adding it under the painting makes it look like a plaque and really gives a museum feel.

Thanks for joining me today! Hope you enjoyed today's card with the water lilies and layering your inks.

I looked at this and thought that you had some really cool trick to do that coloring and then I watched the video and saw that it was a layered stamp set. LOL the laugh was on me. I love layered sets just because they are so easy to use and produce great results every time. This looks lovely.

I loved this card. You were right in saying that the sentiment looked like a title for the picture in a museum. This frame die is lovely. Making my wish list.
