Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #18
Hi friends! It's time for another Stay Crafty With Hero challenge. We are constantly in awe of the amazing cards our Creative Team makes using our products. Do their ideas inspire you in your cardmaking? This month, we want to see that inspiration. Our theme is Inspired By... We're challenging you to create a card inspired by a Hero Arts Creative Team member! You can find tons of inspiration from them everyday here on this blog, or links to their individual blogs are over on the sidebar. We'll include all of the challenge details further down this post, but first, here's a gorgeous card from Michelle, inspired by Debi!
Hello there, Michelle here. For today's challenge, I was inspired by Debi Adams. She made this beautiful Christmas card and I was immediately drawn to the colour combination. I would have never thought of pink and aqua for a Christmas card but I love it! Here is Debi's original card:
And here is mine:
As you can see, I was not only inspired by the colour combination, but also the design with the panels in the background and the poinsettia in the top left. Since my style is more clean and simple, I omitted the ornament and replaced it with a simple embossed sentiment.
I started off by taking a panel of Hero Hues Mist Cardstock and blending Pool Party Reactive Ink at the top. I then cut it in to pieces and adhered them to the front of a Dove White top folding card base. The Paper Layering Poinsettia Die was cut from Hero Hues Peony Cardstock for the petals and Classic Vellum Layering Paper for the leaves. The inside piece was cut from silver glitter cardstock.
The pieces were layered up with Precision Glue and then adhered to the card. I took the sentiment from the Floral Nativity set and stamped it on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few sequins.
Now it's your turn - we'd absolutely love for you to join us! We want to encourage you to actually sit down and enjoy the process of creating. We know it is a source of fun, relaxation and stress relief - something we all can use a bit more of right now. Create a new card for this challenge with the theme Inspired By... Use the Inlinkz tool at the very bottom of this post to link up your card, and you will be entered into our drawing. We will be giving a $50 gift certificate randomly to one person who plays along! (Yes, that's right! We increased the prize heading into the new year!) To link up your project, you need to share it publicly somewhere you can grab the link - this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account - anything that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up.
We, of course, encourage you to use your favorite Hero Arts products. But any and all entries are eligible for consideration. We really care most about you bringing a little inky joy into your life. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 7th at 5:00pm PT to be eligible for the giveaway, and the winner will be announced when we announce our new challenge on Friday, January 8th. Scroll down below the product thumbnails to find the linkup! If you share your project on social media, we'd love if you'd use the #staycraftywithhero hashtag.
We hope you had fun creating Thank You cards last month, and that they brightened the recipient's day. Thanks to everyone who created for the challenge. Our random winner is Sintang Mayumi who created this adorable set of thank you cards using our Unbearably Thankful stamp set.
