You Shine, Sunshine
Hello there! Seeka here today and I'm sharing a super clean, simple, and sunny card featuring the Geometric Sun Fancy Die. I really love this radial design which could easily be interpreted not only as a sun, but also as a flower or starburst or fireworks. I can even see a sea urchin shell! What do you see?
I began by die cutting the Geometric Sun from a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of Dove White cardstock. I placed this over another piece of Dove White of the same size, and lightly traced a couple arcs of the center circle onto the bottom piece, drawing the marks slightly underneath the opening so that they wouldn't show once I layered the pieces together.
Using the arcs as a guide, I used a foam blending tool to blend Creamsicle Reactive Ink onto the uncut panel. I concentrated the color in a small circle, letting the color fade out a bit. Next, I blended Lemon Drop Reactive Ink onto the panel, in a circle around the orange circle I'd created. I took my time blending the two colors today, alternating between the orange and yellow until I had a nice smooth blend.
Temporarily placing the die cut panel over the ink-blended panel so that I knew where to stamp the sentiment, I stamped "you shine" in Intens-ified Black Ink. The sentiment is part of a longer sentiment in the You Shine stamp set and I masked the bottom half of the sentiment so that I could ink up only "you shine."
To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the die-cut panel on top of the ink-blended panel, and then adhered the card front to a card base.
Thank you so much spending time with me today!
