Layered Looking Glass Butterfly
Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I'm sharing a card featuring the sweet Looking Glass Layering Butterfly die set.
The colors for the butterfly were inspired by a 4.25" x 5.5" panel in my stash of extra panels. When I use ink sprays, I like to catch the overspray by placing extra panels around the panel I'm spraying. The result is often a fun mix of colors and a much finer mist than I couldn't have produced even if I had tried!
I cut the first layer of the butterfly out of the ink-sprayed panel and then used Onyx pigment ink to stamp a sentiment from the Monarch & Milkweed stamp set just beneath the butterfly.
Next, I cut the middle and bottom two layers of the butterfly from two 3" x 3" pieces of Dove White cardstock. I used medium ink blending brushes to ink up these two pieces. I lightly covered the middle butterfly layer with Amethyst Core ink and then intensified the color at the center. Then I covered the bottom butterfly layer with Lemon Yellow Core ink and then blended Tangerine Core ink at the center.
To assemble the card, I taped the two ink-blended layers to the back of the card front, and then I taped a small piece of Paradise cardstock behind the butterfly as the final layer. Then, I used double-sided tape to adhere the card front to a top-folding card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
