A Happy Rainbow of Crayons

Michelle Short

Hello there, Michelle Short here, and I am delighted to be back on the blog today sharing a happy rainbow of crayons!

The Box of Crayons Fancy Dies can be used in lots of different ways. For today, I thought it would be fun to have a rainbow of them at the top of my card.

I started off by die cutting one of the crayons multiple times from cardstock. I wanted the paper outing of the crayon to be a lighter shade than the crayon itself. I die cut the crayon from both shades of cardstock and then cut off the top (using scissors) for the lighter shade before adhering onto the darker shade.

I used Peony & Ultra Pink for the pink crayons, Papaya & Pumpkin for the orange crayons, Canary & Mustard for the yellow crayons, Kiwi & Meadow for the green crayons, Periwinkle & Lapis for the blue crayons, and Passion Flower & Amethyst for the purple crayons.

I wanted the crayons to look a little like a well known brand, so I die cut more crayons from Pitch Black Cardstock and cut off the band portion (using scissors) and adhered them to the crayons using Precision Glue.

I took a panel (4.25" 5.5") of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL on top using Intens-ified Black Ink

I then adhered the crayons at the top of the panel with Precision Glue. I cut the excess off from the sides and top using my guillotine. It was then adhered to an A2 sized white card base.

I always think of rainbows as happy, so I though the 'happy hello' sentiment worked well! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!
