Faux Stitched Personalized Tags
Hello there, Michelle here and today I have three tags to share with you using the new Cross Stitch Alpha Set. This was released as an add-on to the May 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit. It is a little 3" x 4" set and perfect for personalising items for friends and family.
I thought I would make some tags for today's project. They will be perfect for adding on to presents or to send just to brighten up someone's day! I started off by creating the tags themselves. I took Hero Hues Premium Cardstock in Paradise, Amethyst and Azalea and cut two tags out of each. I used the Tag Fancy Die for the main tag. For the top layer, I die cut this further by cutting an opening in the front of the tag with the 7th smallest circle die from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies Set. This created an opening for my faux cross stitching to be.
For the stitching part, I downloaded the free Cross Stitch Printable and printed it on to Dove White Cardstock. This is wonderful as it looks textured but is flat, so perfect for stamping your designs on. I added the pieces into my Mini MISTI and stamped one of the flower designs from the Cross Stitch Patterns Stamp Set onto them. I used Dandelion Bold Ink for the petals of the flower and Green Apple Bold Ink for the leaves and stem.
I then took the Cross Stitch Alpha Stamp Set and stamped the letters on top with Intense Black Ink. I found it easier to stamp each letter separately, rather than line them all up and stamp in one go. Once the stamping was finished, I added this piece behind the opening in the tag and adhered it from the front. I then took the full tag piece and adhered this to the back, sandwiching the stitching images inside.
To finish off, I added some black twine through the top of the tags. These definitely give the feel of cross stitching without the actual stitching, and it was great to be able to personalise the tags for friends. Thanks so much for popping by today, have a great day!
