Clean and Simple Split Card
Good morning! Jess here with a clean and simple card featuring an adorable kitty from the new Knitting stamp set!
I wanted to keep today's card simple and focused mainly on that adorable yarn-juggling kitty so I started by stamping him with Versafine and heat-embossing him with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I colored him with Copics and die-cut him with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment from Knitting onto Pitch Black cardstock and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder before trimming it down to a thin label. I die-cut the tiniest Nesting Heart Infinity Die from Azalea cardstock.
Next I created that fun tone on tone background by blending Pool Party, Blue Raspberry, Splash, and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks onto a piece of Dove White cardstock in a 4.25" by approximately 2 inch strip. The inks aren't quite available yet but they'll be in the shop May 22! In the meantime you could create a similar look by creating a watercolor wash with Dark Teal, Deep Ocean, and Indigo Liquid Watercolors or by blending the four shades from the Tropical Waters Bold Ink Cubes! I let the inks dry completely and then stamped the Knitting Patterns Bold Prints over it with Versamark and heat-embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. It creates a subtle pattern that's most noticeable when it catches the light. I adhered the embossed strip over a Dove White card base. Next I took an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock and cut two inches off the top. Then I cut an inch off the remaining panel and adhered it to the top of my card. I adhered the rest of the panel to the bottom of the card to cover up the messy edges of my ink blending.
Finally I adhered the kitty, sentiment, and heart with foam mounting tape and added a tiny bit of Crystal Clear Lacquer to the heart and ball of yarn to finish the card. Sometimes you don't need to cover an entire A2 panel of card with a scene...just a little strip of color makes a big statement!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
