Join Channin as she walks you through everything included in the kit, shares expert tips and techniques, and creates cozy, soup-spired projects that are equal parts playful and heartfelt. She’ll show how to make a coordinating card and a sweet soup jar gift with a matching recipe tag. Her video is packed with clever ideas to create comfort-filled cards that will brighten anyone’s day!
Here is what Channin has to say about this card:
The moment I saw the soup theme of this month’s Card Kit I knew I wanted to create a soup gift bundle. I used the wonderful images from the You’re Souper Stamp Set to create all the fun images for my card and tag.
The layering stamps made the creating the pot of soup super fast and easy. The Big Squishy Hugs Die Set is such a versatile panel die set. I used just the arms and sleeves to create the cute arms holding the soup.
Of course I had to get a little splatter in there so I used the beautiful Brown Acrylic Speckle for the background. Once I finished my card and tag I used a bit of ribbon and twine to tie the tag to my soup mix (instructions for soup mix at the bottom of this post).

- ¼ cup dried minced onion
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup uncooked white rice
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ cup uncooked small pasta, like Ditalini
Add ingredients to a 32 oz glass jar in the following order:
- Onion
- ½ cup split peas
- Rice
- ½ cup lentils
- Beef granules
- ½ cup split peas
- Barley
- ½ cup lentils
- Italian seasoning
- Bay Leaves
- Finish off with the pasta.
Instructions for Friendship Soup (place on the back of the tag and attach to jar)
You will need:
- 1lb grd turkey or beef, browned and drained
- 1 (14.5oz) can diced tomatoes
- 3 quarts water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or ½ t. garlic powder
- 1 (15oz) can tomato sauce
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Carefully remove the pasta form the jar and set aside. In a large stock pot pour the remaining soup mix as well as the browned meat, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and garlic. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover with a lid and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves from soup and add pasta. Cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the pasta is tender. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Optional: Add 2 T. red wine vinegar for an extra kick.
