In her video, Channin shares tips for:

  • Building layered stencil backgrounds

  • Adding shine and dimension with Hero Wax

  • Combining graphic transfers with soft florals

  • Creating depth with die-cut landscapes

  • Using wax as textured embellishment

Both cards beautifully showcase how the Spring Meadow and Eggstra Special collections can be mixed, layered, and enhanced with dimensional products to create truly special handmade cards.

Spring Meadow Card: Soft Floral Background with Stunning Dimension

For her first card, Channin created a dreamy pastel floral background using the Color Layering Meadow Blooms Stencils. By softly blending ink through each layer, she built depth and dimension into the blooms while keeping the overall look light and airy — perfect for spring.

On the final stencil layer, she applied Wintergreen Hero Wax over the leaves and flowers. The wax adds a beautiful dimensional finish with subtle shine. It’s a stunning way to enhance layered stenciling and give your background a polished, professional look.

To introduce bold contrast, Channin incorporated the Grids & Icons Transfers, applying the mixed media style design to a Clear Card Panel for added texture and visual interest. The crisp black graphic details layered over the soft florals create striking, modern contrast. She then used the Oval Infinity Dies to cut both the Meadow Blooms Cover Plate Die and the clear panel into matching oval frames.

The oval frame floral panel was popped up with foam adhesive for extra depth, and the design was finished with a heartfelt Mother’s Day sentiment from the Happy Easter Stamp & Cut. The result is an elegant spring card filled with texture, layers, and thoughtful detail.

Eggstra Special Card: Playful Layered Background with Whimsy Texture

Channin’s second card from the Eggstra Special collection brings playful charm with sweet bunny artists

She began by building a colorful background using the Landscape Dies cut from shades of green and teal cardstock to create soft rolling hills. The Landscapes Die Set is designed with versatility in mind. The smooth curves work beautifully with adorable critters, florals, and focal images of all kinds. Use them to create fresh spring scenes, sunny outdoor settings, or soft snowy drifts for winter cards.

Next, she stamped and colored the adorable images from the Color My World Stamp & Cut, arranging the sweet bunnies and their egg-decorating scene on the card front to bring everything to life.

To finish the design, Channin reached for Wintergreen Hero Wax once again — but this time she used it as dimensional “paint.” Applied directly to the egg the bunnies are decorating, the wax adds texture and a subtle sheen that makes the details pop. It’s a fun, unexpected way to use Hero Wax beyond backgrounds and proves how versatile this product can be.

Shine, Texture & Dimension with Hero Wax

One of the standout elements in both of Channin’s cards is Hero Wax — our metallic, wax-based paste that adds rich color, shine, and texture to any project. Packaged in an adorable 1 oz. tin, Hero Wax is available in a variety of beautiful colors and dries permanently on most surfaces, making it a versatile addition to your crafty stash. Whether you’re looking for subtle shimmer or bold dimensional detail, this product delivers eye-catching results every time.

Here are just a few ways to use Hero Wax in your projects:

  • Stencil with it – Apply through stencils using a palette knife for crisp, dimensional designs.

  • Finger-paint accents – Rub it on with your fingertip to highlight raised areas or add organic, blended effects.

  • Heat for texture – Apply a heat tool after spreading to create a fun, slightly bubbly surface effect.

  • Elevate die cuts – Lightly apply over die-cut elements to enhance embossed or detailed areas.

  • Perfect for mixed media – Beautiful on journals, tags, altered art, and layered collage projects.

  • Add metallic shine anywhere – Use it to accent sentiments, frame edges, or bring subtle shimmer to backgrounds.

From elegant floral backgrounds to whimsical scene details, Hero Wax makes it easy to add that extra something special to your handmade cards and projects.
