Trio of One-Layer Wonder House-Mouse Cards

Hello crafty friends. This is Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook today. I have a trio of cards I created with the Spellbinders House-Mouse Everyday collection. More of those sweet images that we all love, touching on the everyday celebrations and moments that we most enjoy making cards for. Today I’m sharing one-layer cards that showcase and make those beautiful images pop.

I started by trimming Bristol Smooth Cardstock panels to A2 size. Then I stamped all of my images with VersaFine onyx black ink because I wanted to watercolor them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. This paper/marker combo is perfect for a relaxed and forgiving watercolor experience.

After I was done watercoloring each panel, I trimmed the top and bottom down to frame the images. I did leave them all 5.5 inches wide so they filled the whole card front from left to right though. After these were trimmed down, I chose sentiments from each set and stamped them in the natural open space that was left from each image.

Next, I pulled Cosmic Sky cardstock, which was inspired by the shadow color I used on all of the panels, and cut strips to fill the card front on top and bottom of each one. Everything was added to the card front with liquid glue. A small tip for dealing with watercolored paper: Sometimes it warps and that’s not fun. If you have a laminator or Minc machine for foiling, this is a fantastic way to flatten it back out after it’s dried.
