Hello, crafters! I'm thrilled to be a guest designer on the Spellbinders blog today, showcasing the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Birthday Collection. For these cards, I also incorporated Pooh and Piglet.
If you'd like to get to know me better, visit my blog or follow me on Instagram. Additionally, I have a YouTube channel where I regularly post video tutorials.
Winnie the Pooh and Presents card
For my first card, I created this cheerful design featuring Winnie the Pooh surrounded by gifts, perfect for celebrating a very happy birthday!
Products Used:
Created background: I pressed the Birthday Bash Press Plate and Die set in light turquoise ink onto the white card stock.
Create a Pooh: Die-cut by using the Pooh & Piglet etched die on Bee Wax cardstock. Use a blending brush to apply the shade. Use a white gel pen to create the highlight.
For this card, I created a charming vintage-style illustration, set within a Polaroid frame, and I think it's perfect for celebrating special moments.
Products Used:
Create the Main Illustration: Pressed the Celebration Moments BetterPress Plate using black BP ink on watercolor cardstock.
Construct the Polaroid Frame: Die-cut a Polaroid photo frame from white cardstock using the Memory Frame Etched Dies.
Press the Sentiment: Ink the "a day spent with you is my favorite day" sentiment from the A Very Happy Birthday Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die with black ink. Press it onto a piece of white cardstock using your BetterPress System. Then, die-cut the sentiment with the coordinating die.
Create the Banner: Die-cut banner pieces from colored cardstock scraps(Blue and pink colors) using the Classic Pooh Birthday Accessories Dies. Assemble them into a festive banner.
Add Sentiment and Banner: Adhere the die-cut sentiment below the Polaroid frame. Attach the decorative banner above the frame, allowing it to drape slightly.
From Owl & Piglet's Birthday Card
For my third card, I created this delightful design featuring an adorable owl and Piglet, ready to celebrate a special day with festive banners and gifts.
Products Used:
3EOM-May23 Embossing Folder - for the background texture
Emboss the Background: Take a piece of white cardstock and emboss it using the 3EOM-May23 Embossing Folder. This will create a textured background for your card.
Create the Owl & Piglet Character: Die-cut all the pieces for the owl from various shades of Acorn, tan, and Saffron cardstock scraps using the Rabbit & Owl Die. Assemble the pieces to create the owl character. Die-cut Piglet from Blush and Cosmic Sky card stock using the Pooh and Piglet Etched Dies.
Press the Sentiment: Ink the "it's your special day!" sentiment from the A Very Happy Birthday Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die with black ink. Press it onto a piece of white cardstock using your BetterPress System. Then, die-cut the sentiment with the coordinating die.
Arrange Characters and Elements: Position the assembled owl and Piglet on the front of the card. Arrange and attach the die-cut banners, threading them between the characters or across the top of the card. Place the die-cut gift boxes near the characters.
Add the Sentiment: adhere the die-cut sentiment "it's your special day!" to the card front, positioning it to enhance the characters and gifts.
The Say Cheese Classic Pooh Birthday Collection is ideal for creating heartfelt cards and scrapbook pages for special occasions, especially for fans of Pooh and his friends. I hope the cards I’ve shared today inspire you with plenty of creative ideas.
Happy Crafting!
XOXO, Heejung
