Fair Winds Collection Introduction with Dawn Woleslagle

Hello and welcome! This is Dawn and I am so excited to share my newest collection from Spellbinders with you – Fair Winds. Growing up in a military family with the Navy and Marines, I’ve lived on or near a coast my entire life. Spanning from the West Coast to the East Coast and finally settling on the Southeast Coast. As for the beach, I can take it or leave it, but the coastal lifestyle is ingrained in me. In this collection, I tried to capture the scenery and essence of this lifestyle.

Guiding Light Die Set

The Guiding Light Die Set allows you to create an iconic beacon of hope – the lighthouse. I’ve always had a fascination with lighthouses and the many things it can symbolize. I used the St. Augustine lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida as my inspiration during creation, but it can be customized to fit your desired inspiration. The light inside is visible and perfect for creating an interactive light up card. To complete the die set, I included some rocky bases and seagulls.

Set Sail Die Set

In the Set Sail Die Set I’ve included a generously sized sailboat, a set of clouds, and a set of waves. The clouds are designed to be layered together or used separately for more possibilities. Cutting them in green also allows them to double as trees and vegetation on the horizon when creating a scene. This easy to assemble sailboat is perfect for taking center stage or to combine with the other dies in this collection.

Oh, Buoy! Die Set

This set just makes me smile! It’s a little whimsical and fun on its own, but still fits in perfectly with the rest of this collection. Included in this set is a seagull, three different buoys, and a boat dock pylon – everything you need to create a fun little focal scene for a card front. It can also be used with anything else in the collection to create a larger scene. The buoys would also be fun to use on their own to cover a card front in lots of different colors!

Fair Winds Sentiments Stamp & Die Set

The Fair Winds Sentiments Stamp Set includes both large greeting sentiments for the front of a card, and smaller coordinating sentiments for the interior. This set provides sentiments for a multitude of occasions from encouragement to birthday. Of course, I couldn’t leave out a Father’s Day sentiment. And as a nod to my military roots, I made sure to include a couple that are perfect for those retirements and the whole collection’s namesake!

Uncharted Waters Stencil

This versatile stencil set comes with six layers that allows you to create a seaside landscape and set the scene for the rest of the dies in the collection. You can use all six layers for the complete scene or choose individual elements to fit your needs – a cloudy sky or sunset, just the shoreline, or even a path in a green field.
