Two Birthday Card Ideas with the Just Add Cake Birthday Kit

Hello there! Laura Bassen here, and I am so honoured to be sharing a couple of projects featuring the Birthday Brew die set included in the Just Add Cake Birthday Kit . I wanted to show two different techniques using the coffee mug. Two of my favorite things to do in card making are to “Strip it Up” & “Shake it Up”. Here are two cards doing just that.

For my first card, I trimmed strips of cardstock from the Just Add Cake Creative Spark Pack. I didn’t measure the strips. I like having each strip a varied thickness. I adhered the strips onto a panel and then embossed it using the Confetti Drop 3D Embossing Folder. This gave the stripped-up panel a festive texture. I assembled the birthday mug using Orchid & Mulberry cardstock with Oceanside letters. For the sleeve, I used Rainforest with Fern for the cuff. For the hand I used Chiffon cardstock . I added an embossed sentiment using the Just Add Cake Clear Stamp Set.

My second card has a very similar layout, but this time I used the mug die to create a shaker window. I die-cut the mug into a panel of Oceanside cardstock and backed the panel with acetate . To fill the shaker, I used the Just Add Cake Sequins. For the sentiment, I embossed white onto Dahlia cardstock using the Just Add Cake Clear Stamp Set & Die Set.

Now you can see why I love to Strip it Up & Shake it Up. You can take these two fun techniques and use them with any of the die sets included in the Just Add Cake Birthday Kit as well as products you already have. Thank you so much for joining me today. Have a wonderful day!
