3D Vignette Pet House – Project Inspiration with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new 3D Vignette Pet House Die Set by Becca Feeken. The elegant pet house design and sweet accessories inspired me to create three different kinds of projects with this die set – a pretty 3D vignette, a sweet card, and a fun Christmas gift tag that can double as an ornament.
3D Dog House Vignette
Becca’s 3D designs are so much fun to put together and the finished projects are always amazing. Here I chose pretty blues and teals to create a 3D dog house vignette as a thank-you for our neighborhood pet sitter.
Die-cut white and Mirror Silver Cardstock using the bone, sentiment, and bowl dies from the set and adhere to the front house panel with foam adhesive.
Die-cut Dune and Raindrop Cardstock using the dog dies from the set.
Add fun coloring to the dog with Copic markers, assemble with liquid glue, and add inside the doorway of the house.
Sending Hugs Cat House Card
The pet house fits nicely on top of an A2-sized card too, so I wanted to create a scene with it using this format next. Here I combined it with fluffy clouds and a couple of cute cats for a sweet hugs card for a friend.
Trim a piece of Glacier Cardstock to 4.125” x 5.375”, emboss it with the Head In The Clouds Embossing Folder, and blend a little Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges to give it some depth.
Add the embossed panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
Adhere the house to the card front and add a strip of grass across the bottom of the card cut from Rainforest Cardstock.
Die cut white and Persimmon Cardstock using the cat die from the set, add fun markings to them with Copic markers (I made them look like my two cats!), and assemble with liquid glue.
Apply Silver Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out using the coordinating die, and add to the front of the house with foam adhesive.
Cut the bowl and paw print out of white and Pink Sand Cardstock and add to them along with the cats to the scene using foam adhesive.
Birdhouse Christmas Tag/Ornament
Lastly, I loved that Becca included an extra die in the set that could turn the doorway on the pet house into a birdhouse! I thought this would make a beautiful gift tag that could also be used as a Christmas ornament.
Trim a piece of Timber Cardstock to about 4.25” x 9” and score and fold it down the center to form a 4.25” x 4.5” top-folding “card”.
Placing the top of the house base die hanging over the folded edge of the cardstock by about a quarter-inch, run this through your die-cutting machine a couple of times until it cuts through both layers of cardstock to form a tag base that opens up.
Die cut the remaining parts of the house panel using white, Dune, and Fern Cardstock (using the circle die in the set to cut the opening for a birdhouse) and assemble with liquid glue and foam adhesive.
Apply Red Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Foil Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating dies.
Add the bird, poinsettia, and sentiment to the front of the tag with foam adhesive.
