Welcome Janette Kausen - Our Newest Hero Arts Creative Team Member

Nov 07, 2017 Hero Arts

It is always an exciting time at Hero Arts when we add a new Creative Team member. Today we are happy to introduce you to Janette Kausen!

We noticed Janette Kausen's work on social media and knew she would be a great addition to the Hero Arts family. You will enjoy Janette's beautiful style and we hope you will visit her blog here to look at her work.

Let's meet Janette and enjoy her beautiful projects using November 2017 My Monthly Hero add-on products.

Janette: Hello, Hello! I am Janette Kausen, I am the wife of my high school sweetheart and the mother of 4 amazing daughters (2 in elementary, 2 in college). We raise our family, including our box turtle Squirt, Luna the nocturnal cat, and Teddy the Pomeranian (AKA Juan Pablo), in the citrus rich community of Exeter, California. We grow oranges, almonds, cherries, grapefruit and recently added persimmons to our commodities. You may have had our locally grown goodness at your grocer or even at your table. I am an old soul with a Type A personality. Crafting allows me to decompress from the stresses of everyday life. I used to call it cheap therapy, but with Full Set Syndrome, I’m not so sure! I find my Creative Bliss in being a paper crafter, stamper, Copic & watercolor lover, quilter, knitter, aspiring modern calligrapher and overall ProCraftinator!

I am honored to be joining the amazing Hero Arts family. No doubt my neighbors knew something exciting was happening here the day I received that email! A warm and caring company with fantastic products, friendly and talented teammates... this is what dreams are made of!

Today, I am sharing two fun projects with a few November My Monthly Hero add-ons. I'm featuring Holiday Badges and the Snowflake Pattern Bold Print.

I created the background of this holiday card by coloring in an area of the Snowflake Pattern Bold Print cling stamp with a red waterbased Tombow Dual-Brush Marker. Then lightly spray over the colored area with the fine mist provided by the Hero Arts Water Mist Bottle and stamp to smooth Bristol paper. Vary mist amounts for different effects. I like to leave my stamp in place for 15 seconds or so to make sure that the water has been able to wick in the paper.

Finishing details are provided with a black cardstock strip, dimensional adhesive, Ombre Blush Sequins and Holiday Badges. The "For You" flag has been swiped with the same red marker (no mist) for an distressed appearance. Holly was stamped in Moss Hybrid ink and the sweet label was stamped in Black ink and Sparkle embossed by first inking up with Versamark, then the black ink, then to the paper. Heat emboss as one normally would.

The gift wrap was created quickly and easily by stamping a sheet of lightweight red cardstock with the Snowflake Pattern Bold Print in Versamark ink and then heat embossing with Sparkle powder. It is difficult to capture the glimmer with static film, but rest assured it is outstanding! The fabulous part? The shimmer stays on the paper and not your hands like store bought wrap can.

The gift was completed with a fancy holographic bow, a sparkling candy tag from Holiday Badges and adorned with Icicle Stickles.

Thank you for popping in today, and I can't wait to share with you again!

xo,

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work, Janette. We look forward to lots of inspiration in the future. And welcome to the family!
