Video: Simple Spring Scene with Color Layering Duckling
Michelle Short
Hello there, Michelle here! Today I have a card and video to share with you creating a simple spring scene using the Color Layering Duckling set. The duckling is so cute! Perfect for spring and Easter cards.
You can view the video tutorial below or HERE on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.
I started off by stamping the Color Layering Duckling on to Dove White cardstock using Dandelion Bold Ink for the first layer, Tangerine Bold Ink for the second layer and Cup O' Joe Mid-Tone Shadow Ink for the last. There are so many different color combinations you can use for the duckling, but I wanted quite a bright duckling for my card, so went with quite bright colors.
The duckling was then die cut out using the Color Layering Duckling Frame Cuts. Make sure to check out my video on an easy way to line up dies, if you are not sure of the placement! For the background, I added ink blending to a panel of cardstock using the Clouds and Grass Scenic Stencil.
Using Ink Blending Brushes, I first blended on the grass at the bottom of the panel using Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple Reactive Inks. For the clouds, I used Splash Reactive Ink. The sentiment, from the Color Layering Duckling set, was then stamped on top using Intens-ified Black Ink.
The panel was adhered to a top folding card base with foam tape and then the duckling added on top with thin foam squares.
It is a very simple scene, but I wanted the duckling to be the focus. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a lovely day!

Great video, Michelle! I have had this set since it was release and have been hesitant to try it as aligning the layers on some sets is such a challenge. I really appreciate your tips on that and on the colors. This card is adorable and your videos are always so helpful and inspiring. Thank You!
What a cute card. This duckling is adorable. I hope my bunny comes out as well as your duckling. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
