Video: Simple Coloring with Cozy Town
Welcome everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by. Mindy here with you today to share a card created with the Cozy Town stamp set. Sometimes small images can be tedious to color but I'm going to show you how I quickly colored up my houses to create a simple Christmas card.
I have a video for you to walk you through my steps creating this card.
If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)
I'm starting with a piece of Arctic Hero Hues Premium Cardstock. I stamped the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints with the Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink using my MISTI Regular Black Stamping Tool and heat set with Sparkle Embossing Powder. This will add a subtle background to our card without taking away from the images which will be the focal point.
I choose a few houses and the set of pine trees from the Cozy Town stamp set and stamped them in Intens-ified Black Ink. Instead of coloring each house differently which can be tedious and time consuming, I used a C2 and C0 Copic marker. By just using a couple neutral colors, I saved myself time and still had a little dimension by adding the shadows.
To add contrast to the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Cozy Town stamp set onto Cranberry Hero Hues Premium Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. Then heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.
After trimming the sentiment down, I added it to the front of the card panel with foam squares. I added the houses above the sentiment with a tape runner and the center house with a foam square.
My stamped card panel is added to a white card base using the Hero Hues Dove White Side Folded Cards. To add just a little more interest to the front of the card, I added three Clear Hero Hues Enamel Dots.
Thanks for joining me today!
