Video: Reverse Masking & Black & White Plus One
Hi friends! Greetings from insanely hot Texas! Today's card is aspirational, because there's no way anyone in their right mind would have a picnic right now - so I'm dreaming of cooler days with today's project.
One of my favorite challenges at Splitcoast is when a host asks us to do black & white plus one color - you need just the right image to pull off a card like that, and the new Picnic Basket Bundle is absolute perfection! This stamp set has a seamless, endlessly repeating plaid stamp you can build a blanket with, and I used it to fill in the matching napkin I made with reverse masking, using Cherry ink.
Underneath the basket, which I die cut, I made a long stripe with the repeating plaid in Cherry ink, and then I masked that and stamped the ADORABLE Marching Ants Bold Prints over that before removing the masking. Look at their little legs! I love this stamp.
I used a fine point pen to add detail to the wicker and a few of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today! If it's cool enough for YOU to enjoy a picnic - head outdoors!

Love that card and love those adorable ants! I moved from Texas to Vermont about six months ago. The move wasn’t my idea (I love Texas), but the one consolation was that it would be cooler up here. I was right — the temperature is cooler, but what I didn’t factor in was no air conditioning! Long story short — not perfect weather for a picnic up here either (particularly since we’re recovering from last week’s “1,000 year flood”)! I guess no place is perfect!
Love this!
