Video: Creating Textured Hot Chocolate Mug
Hi everyone! Ilina here! Today I am sharing a way to add more texture and interest to your larger die cuts, such as this hot chocolate mug I am using from the new Hug in a Mug Stamp & Cut XL set. (This adorable set is now back in stock!)
To make the card start by cutting thin strips from Peony, Paradise and Sand cardstock. Add double sided adhesive to a piece of scrap paper. Printer paper is great. Make sure you have enough coverage for the entire die. Adhere the strips, alternating colors. Once you have a large enough piece, secure the mug die on top and die cut. Die cut the hot chocolate piece from Chestnut cardstock and the whipped topping from Dove White cardstock. Cut additional pieces from Dove White cardstock for stacking to add more sturdiness and dimension to your die cut.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be or click HERE to watch on YouTube.
Stack the die cuts. Stamp the heart on the mug using Clear Embossing and Watermark ink and emboss using White Detail embossing powder.
For the whipped topping piece, add some Clear Lacquer Pen and White Puff embossing powder, heat set to make it look fluffy. Set aside the die cuts.
Stamp the Noel Prints Bold Prints background on a piece of Sand cardstock using Clear Embossing and Watermark ink, emboss with Detail White embossing powder. Do the same for the sentiment.
Trim the background panel to 3 3/4" x 5" and adhere the die cut hot chocolate mug and sentiment. Add Enamel Dots and Mini Clay Snowflakes. Adhere to a Top Folded Dove White notecard.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you have an amazing day!
