Valentine Wreath on Shimmery Background
Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I'm sharing a simple wreath, made with the Valentine Wreath Bundle, against a beautiful and easy shimmery spray background.
I started off by creating the background so that it would have time to dry. I sprayed four or five generous bursts of Fuchsia + Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray and Bright Yellow + Copper Two-Tone Metallic Spray onto a 4.25" x 5.5" panel Luxe White Watercolor Paper. Then I quickly laid a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of Dove White cardstock over the sprayed panel. This panel absorbed excess spray that hadn't yet absorbed into the watercolor panel. The coverage isn't as solid as the sprayed panel, but I like the imperfect look and this is the panel that I used for my card. The shimmer is gorgeous in person!
While the panel was drying, I used a MISTI stamp-positioning tool to stamp the wreath from the Valentine Wreath stamp set onto white cardstock. I started by stamping the entire image in Kiwi Core ink and then I randomly tapped a Fresh Lawn ink pad over the stamp and stamped again. The result is some very slight color variation within the wreath image.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Onyx pigment ink onto white cardstock. I used the coordinating dies to cut out both the wreath and the sentiment, and I cut the sentiment shape three more times from white cardstock. I stacked and glued the sentiment die cuts together for some extra dimension.
To assemble the card, I trimmed 3/8" off both the length and width of the background panel and glued it to a top-folding card base. Then I used foam tape to adhere both the wreath and the sentiment.
Thank you so much for visiting!
