Hello, friends! This is Mindy and I'm excited to share a fun and festive holiday card featuring the Hero Arts My Monthly Super Hero Kit , themed Jolly Holiday! This month's kit is packed with amazing products, and I knew right away that I wanted to create something interactive!
Watch the video and learn how to create this card using the November My Monthly Hero kit!
Creating a Jolly Santa & Snowy Background
One of the highlights of the kit is the adorable Santa design. You can create the full Santa, which would be perfect for a 5x7 card, but I decided to have a little fun and use just his head. The result is a playful Santa that wobbles from side to side!
I also wanted to incorporate the beautiful cardstock colors included in the kit. For the background, I used the rich Indigo cardstock paired with the layering stencil, white pigment ink , and pearl paste . I love how the white and shimmery details pop against that deep blue!
Assembling Santa & Adding Interactive Fun
Santa came together using the coordinating dies, with a little ink blending and foam squares to bring out the details. I especially love that the dies create subtle embossed guidelines to help with placement. Such a thoughtful feature!
For an extra pop of color, I brought in the Jolly Die Set, creating each letter in a different color from the cardstock variety pack. The colorful greeting looks so cheerful layered over Santa's beard!
Of course, the interactive element is what really makes this card special! I used the Spinners Assortment Pack from Spellbinders, with a small modification to keep Santa from spinning completely around. Now he has the cutest little side-to-side wobble!
Finishing Touches
I finished the card with a sentiment from the Let's Be Jolly Stamp & Cut set. I'm especially excited about the coordinating dies for the sentiments, even the smaller ones!
Don't forget to watch the video showing the complete card process, including how I created the background, assembled Santa, and added that fun interactive movement. And you can see Santa's wobble in action!
This month's Jolly Holiday kit is filled with so many fun possibilities, and I had a great time putting my own little spin on it. I hope it inspires you to try something interactive with your holiday cards!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting!
