Tree Reflection – Bold Prints Background Tricks

One of the great things about Bold Prints background stamps is that they are a canvas for oh-so-many techniques, so I have a fun and easy one for you today, combining on-stamp ink blending and masking.

The Espalier Fruit Tree is a mirrored Bold Print and has so many possibilities! I decided to lean into the fact that the image essentially brings its own reflection, and so I masked the lower portion of my cardstock and used Blending Brushes to apply Reactive Inks in Root Beer, Splash, Lemon Drop along with Ultra Pink Core ink. This works best with a MISTI so you can stamp in exactly the same place over and over again with multiple colors.

Next, I masked that section and stamped it again in Granite for the shadow/reflection – swiping the ink on with a Blending Brush again for a distressed, tapestry look I really love.

It's such a gorgeous, classic image. There are lots more ways to use it that you can see on the website, but this reflection technique sure seemed like a natural fit!

Hope you have a great week – thanks for stopping by!
