VIDEO: Colorful Spring Tulips with the February Card Kit
Channin Pelletier
Hello all! It's Channin here and I'm thrilled to back on the blog with a fun card and video featuring the February Card Kit of the Month.
In today's video I will walk you through the entire contents of this month's Card Kit as well as create a colorful spring card with the Tulip HeroScape and the included ink cubes.
To create this card I first used the Tulip HeroScape Stamp Set to create the purple tulips layer. I started with the base stamp for the leaves and stems and stamped it in Moss Core Ink. I then stamped the detail layer for the leaves and stems in Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink over the Moss base which made the Blue Raspberry look green. Next, I positioned and stamped the base layer for the tulips in Thistle Reactive Ink. Lastly, I stamped the tulip detail layer in Azalea Core Ink over the Thistle. With the tulip scene all stamped I then die cut it out with the coordinating die. I then repeated this process to create a second tulip layer but this time I swapped around the Azalea and Thistle for the two flower layers to create pink tulips instead. Next, I die cut the second tulip scene and then trimmed off the excess cardstock at the bottom of both scenes.
I then stamped over an A2 panel of white cardstock with the Circling Clouds Cling stamp in Arctic Core Ink. I then adhered the two tulip scenes to the panel and then trimmed off 1/8" off all four sides of the panel. Next, I adhered it to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base. I then stamped a sentiment and two butterflies from the Tulip HeroScape Stamp Set onto white cardstock in INTENS-ified Black Ink. I then copic colored the butterflies and then die cut the butterflies and sentiment out with the coordinating dies.
Next, I stamped a sub-sentiment in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto the card front. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the diecut sentiment and butterflies to the card front with foam adhesive.
