September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #6 + Giveaway
It's our final countdown post before the big release of the September My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons tomorrow, Tuesday September 3rd at 10am Pacific/1pm Eastern! We hope you've enjoyed all of the peeks over the long weekend. Jayne is joining us again today with one more colorful look at this month's kit!
Although I rarely make one layer cards, I absolutely adore them. So, when I saw the card-sized cabinet stamp in this month's My Monthly Hero kit, I immediately thought that it would be ideal for creating a quick but beautiful card design. Plus, because the kit includes so many small images and sentiments that fit perfectly into the spaces, it will be very easy to make variations of this simple design for many occasions.
To make this card, I simply stamped the large cabinet stamp onto the front of a white card base with Intense Black ink using a MISTI tool. Then, the fun part - I chose some of my favorite sentiments and images from the kit and repeatedly stamped them into each of the spaces on the card until every section was filled. This card is a friendship card but I could have easily made a Halloween card or an Autumn card with some of the other stamps in the kit.
For this card, I decided to color the images with colored pencils for a softer look. However, I also think it would be very pretty to loosely paint the design with Reactive Inks blended with water. To complete the card, I randomly added several Ombre Sunshine sequins across the card front.
Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Tuesday morning, September 3rd, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Super fun and interactive card 😎
Love the idea of the little cubbies to display little trinkets. Thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE this card. The layout is wonderful, and I like to color with pencils and water color also. This is definitely my style. Thank you, Lee Conradi
As a new stamper, I love the ideas you present. I am thinking of what I can put in my boxes and thoughts that I can use.
Lots of coloring but very creative!
