Sep 06, 2017 Hero Arts

It’s time for this month’s Awesome Add-ons feature! Before we check out the project inspiration, here’s a look at all of the add-on products introduced along with the September kit – three new clear stamp sets, two beautiful cling backgrounds, inks, and an array of dies for your fall crafting needs.

Today our Creative Team is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons. First up is Clare with a delightful thank you card featuring a fun new Color Layering set.

Clare: The Color Layering Squirrel is super fun to play with in unexpected colors, but today I thought I’d share a more “traditionally fall” colored card.

I stamped the little guy in Soft Apricot, Pale Tomato and Cup O’ Joe, then die cut him using the coordinating die. I also stamped the acorn using Soft Brown and Cup O’ Joe, and die cut it as well.

For my sentiment, I heat embossed a piece of black cardstock with Black Sparkle embossing powder, and then die cut it with the Thanks Stamp and Cut die. Using the sparkle embossing powders on die cuts is a great way to add a bit of sparkle to a project!

The bottom half of the sentiment was stamped with Black ink on some beautiful woodgrain vellum. One short edge of the vellum was cut like a banner, and then I cut a piece of white cardstock with a banner border as well.

I adhered the banners to a kraft card base, and then adhered the die cut sentiment and images. The card was topped off with some gems.

You could easily make this a spring-themed card by using pastel colors, or a summer card with bright, fun colors! Have fun playing around with color combinations for the squirrel – you never know where it’ll take you!

Next up, Amy has created an artistic autumn greeting that pairs die cutting and stamping in an amazing way.

Amy: This month's add-ons are gorgeous, aren't they? Check out the Paper Layering Sunflower

I colored it with various Copic markers. The tips of the leaves and petals have been slightly curled to give the design some texture. The background is the Starry Night Brushstroke Bold Prints. I heat embossed it in clear and layered Distress Oxide inks.

The sentiment is from the Color Layering Fall Trees stamp set. It has been heat embossed in white.

We hope you enjoyed today’s projects and thank you for stopping by for a peek. Look for even more September add-on inspiration in the coming days and weeks!
