Video: Saving a Card with a Great Sentiment
Hey there! Daniel here with a great way to salvage blunders we all make in our workspaces. I promise you no awe-inspiring new trick. But I can assure you, the stamp set I use to fix my happy accidents will knock your socks off! Affirmation Messages features some super whimsical and funky fonts accompanied by retro graphics.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be. Or click HERE to watch on YouTube.
To create this card, I laid down the Sunflower Field Heroscape layers in Green Apple, then Pine, Butter Bar, Caramel and Cup O' Joe inks. I stamped down the Shine/Sun sentiment from the Affirmation Messages set. Next, I arrayed the farm scene out in my Hero Arts Mini MISTI and stamped it all down with Intens-ified Black Ink. I created a cloudy sky with the Summer Sky ink and a blender brush. Then, I noticed I had messed up the panel by mixing the blue and yellow inks. Also, the sun can't be seen so clearly through clouds. So I grabbed one of the sentiments I had stamped and fussy cut and popped it up over the sun. I saved my project!!
For my second card, I masked out a scene using the Welcome Neighbor stamp set. But when I blended some blue up from the houses, black ink from the mask I used smeared up into the sky. Never fear! I finished coloring my project with Copics, blended in some Wet Cement on the bottom, finished the sky and covered my blunder with another fussy-cut sentiment!
If you watch the video, you'll find a third bonus card that I made error free! Well, almost!! I used a stamp set Hero Arts no longer carries. So to fix it, I recommended a very suitable replacement called Winter Forest Animals! It just goes to show you, mistakes are just opportunities to innovate!
Thanks for hanging out with me a bit! I hope you get a chance to mess up a project and fix it today!

Thanks Daniel! I This is such a simple remedy but it looks like a whole bunch of folks, including me, never thought to to do it. I really appreciate your willingness to share. I have to go through my stash, I keep those bad cards even though I cringe at the boo boos. Now I can go back and fix them.

Thank you very much. I also use a extra saying to cover my mistakes. But I was afraid that this was " not accapted"

Thank you so much for the lesson. What I really got out of it was"DON’T TOSS" if you make a mistake – just find a solution and no one will know the difference – you can still produce a lovely card

Gorgeous cards, glad you didn’t tthrew any away. The big sentiments are awesome and great to use on a “mistake” or just using as a focal point.

I really like what you did today! I have the lavender fields and the tulip fields . I also bought the birthday stamps from Creative Nation , but as yet have not used them. This gives me some new ideas. Thank you very much

I think you did a great job Daniel ! Your cards are really beautiful, and for me, the ☀️ wasn’t a mistake, it could be a sunny cloudy day :)
Love the way you didn’t waste the card you thought weren’t the way you liked and fixed them. I’m always doing the same except for interactive cards. I don’t throw them away, but keep them and don’t give them.
Love your video ❤️
