Saturdays with Sally: Unexpected Pumpkins!
By now you know I am the QUEEN of creating things they weren’t designed for! So today I am showing you how to use your fall dies and stamps to create some pumpkins! All of these cards were made primarily from Halloween Peg Dolls, Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies and Pitch Black Core Ink.
The little jack o' lantern face in the Halloween Peg Dolls set can be used to create "pumpkins" out of unexpected things! How cute are little jack o' lantern acorns?? This multiple acorn pumpkin card uses seven acorns and three leaves from the products above. Die cut all the acorns and then stamp the face. Add different colored tops for variety. Stamp the greeting in Pitch Black Core Ink onto white cardstock. Back with Papaya and Pitch Black cardstocks. Mount onto a Sand note card. Arrange acorns and leaves and glue to the white panel.
For a "simple Sally version", die cut one acorn from Pumpkin Cardstock and one from Fall Glitter Paper. Stamp the face. Die cut just one leaf from Kiwi Cardstock. Tie tiny raffia around the stem. Stamp greeting in black on white cardstock. Glue leaf and foam mount acorn. Back with Papaya Cardstock. Mount onto another Sand note card.
This final card and the other in the photo up above are ideas of what you can do with limited supplies. All of the pumpkins are drawn with pens or paint and watercolored. The card up above also uses some of the smaller stamps in the Halloween Peg Dolls stamp set as background elements.
And I couldn’t resist taking a picture of all the scrappy things sitting on my desk. If I glued them all down, they would make a cute giant fall card!
Go make rather than rake!!
