Ranunculus Garden

Jun 28, 2016 Libby Hickson

Today I had the fun task of playing with my ink cubes - [hero_product_link sku="AF358" text="Libby’s Purple Garden"]! I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty darn exciting to have an ink cube pack with my name on it! Purples and greens were my ink choices, and I know I will be using this combo often! For today's card, I paired them with one of my very favorite stamp sets, [hero_product_link sku="CL949" text="You’re So Lovely"].

I began this card by doing a blue watercolor wash as the base, on watercolor paper. Any sort of watercolors will do! Once dry, I stamped my flowers. A was able to do two-step stamping of these flowers by stamping the lighter Passion Flower ink color using the backsides of the flower stamps! That's right, just flip them over for a solid image - a fun tip for stamps like these! Then I stamped the "real" flower images from the set in Orchid ink on top.

I finished the card by adding leaves in Moss ink, and a bit of spritzing with [hero_product_link sku="WM116" text="Gold Shimmer Spray"] as well as some black India ink. The black ink splotches ended up a little larger than I intended - sometimes ink has a mind of it own, I'm sure you've all been there! :) Since I splotched up the card so much, I also distressed the edges of the paper a bit to go with the theme. I'll be sending this card to someone I miss.

Thanks for stopping by!
