Blue Ridge Mountains Thank You
I had so much fun watercoloring and creating a scene with the [hero_product_link sku="CL973" text="Road Trip"] stamp set for the catalog release blog hop, that I decided to do another version for the blog today!
I made a video showing how I did the watercoloring for the blog hop, but here's a short explanation:
- I sprayed the watercolor cardstock lightly with water, so that the colors would blend easier.
- I then inked the mountain stamp with Weathered Wood, stamped it once for the darker impression, and for the second, lighter impression, I inked up the stamp again and sprayed the stamp with water before stamping.
- To color in the mountains, I smooched the ink pad against a clear acrylic block and used a water brush to fill in the mountains. For the darker mountains, I used less water and more ink, and for the lighter mountains in the background, I used more water and less ink.
To finish off the scene, I stamped the trees in [hero_product_link sku="AF101" text="black"] over and over to fill in the foreground.
Because the scene is so soft, I wanted a more focal sentiment, so I used the gorgeous [hero_product_link sku="K5870" text="Thank You with Flourishes"], and then topped the card off with some clear droplets.
This card has a lot of different possibilities - you could change the color of the mountains, or swap the sentiment out for a different one. I actually hand lettered a sentiment for a similar card I made the other day!
I hope you had fun with me today, and thanks for stopping in today!
