Create a Poinsettia Stenciled Holiday Card with Nontraditional Colors
Jeannie Lieu
Hi crafty friends! It's Jeannie and today, I'm sharing a card that features the Color Layering Poinsettia Pattern Stencils along with the Offset Holiday Messages to make a quick and easy holiday card using unconventional holiday colors.
To create this card, I started with a piece of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock along with my MISTI. I tend to use my stencils paired with the MISTI to help me line up the images easily. It's my cheat code but it honestly takes the guess work out of it.
For the stencil, I used the Hero Hues Core Ink colors in Ultra Pink, Crimson, Moss and Indigo. I decided to use the Indigo to add a wintery vibe to the card versus a strictly holiday card.
I could definitely use this stenciled panel as is to create a card, but I wanted to play with shapes so I pulled out the Rounded Jewels Infinity Dies. I die cut the top portion of the stenciled panel using one of the larger size Infinity Dies. Then I trimmed down the strip of the remaining piece to use on the bottom portion of my card for minimal waste.
I decided to adhere the poinsettia panels to a Cosmic Sky cardstock panel to bring out the Indigo flowers in the pattern.
To go with the wintery theme I chose the Winter Blessings sentiment from the Offset Holiday Messages stamp set. I stamped it between poinsettia panels with Watermark & Embossing Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.
