Parroting

Hello there! This little Color Layering Parrot has come to say “hello!” I decided to experiment with colors on this bird, so I first chose Dandelion, then Neon Blue, then Green Apple. I used a little orange and black near his face and feet. Luckily there is a die set to match, so I stamped the yellow first, then die cut and added the other layers. I think you have to try these and see what order of stamping works for YOU.

I love using all the stamps in a set (or as many as I can!), so I stamped out several palm fronds and leaves in various greens. I added a few flowers, too. I LOVE DIES, so I just kept stamping and cutting until he had a perch. I used the Tropical Foliage Bold Prints, stamping tone on tone, for the background card. I had a scrap of orange swirly pre-printed papers that I used as a mat, and stamped Soft Brown on kraft for the top layer. Arrange all in a pleasing fashion (I cut mine down a little from the standard 4.25″ x 5.5″) and mount with foam tape. I couldn’t resist adding an orange feather on his head!

Thanks for stopping by today,
