October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

Jessica Frost-Ballas

Hello! We are continuing the countdown to the release of the October My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, October 7 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We will be here all weekend, sharing inspiration before the launch. Now let's join Jess for another look at this fantastic kit!

Hi, Jess here and I am excited to share another look at this fun holiday kit! Of course I love anything music related (especially Christmas music) so two specific images in the kit caught my eye right away! ;)

To start I stamped the tree and record player with Soft Vanilla Ink and colored them with Copic markers. Then I restamped them, using my MISTI, with Embossing and Watermark Ink and heat-embossed them with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.

Next I used Taffy and Green Apple Reactive Inks to blend little bokeh circles onto a panel of Dove White Hero Hues Cardstock. I splattered them with water to lighten areas and let the panel dry. Next I swiped my Embossing and Watermark Ink pad across the edges of my panel and heat-embossed them with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder. I also stamped my sentiment onto the panel and heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder. Finally I adhered my tree and popped up my record player with a little foam mounting tape. To finish the card I added a little Crystal Clear Lacquer to the ornaments and record for extra shine!

And that's it! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Love this card. We had a record player just like that when I was growing up. This brings back wonderful memories.

This card kind of reminds me of the old tinsel trees that you shine the rotating color wheel on which is what gives it color. Love the vintage record player too. Beautiful with the gold and pops of color!

That record player is my favorite thing, but your whole card is beautiful

Love the dreamy look of this card with the soft coloured bokeh circles in the background Jess, as well as the swipes of gold around the edges. I’m with you about Christmas music. Love it. I think it’s grand that Hero Arts has put a stamp set together featuring the 1950’s. There are lots of us baby boomers out there.
