October 2019 My Monthly Hero is Here + Giveaway!
If you've been following our kits over the years, you know that October is traditionally a Christmas-themed kit. October 2019 is no exception! But this Christmas, we're going back a few decades...
Let this month's kit take you back! Tie the tree onto the top of the car as you bring it home. Then spend some time in our cozy and inviting 1950's living room. The October kit is full of nostalgia, and will have you "rockin' around the Christmas tree" as you build your fun little retro scene.
This month's kit includes:
- 6" x 8" Clear Stamp Set
- 19 Coordinating Frame Cuts
- 2 5.5" x 8.5" Sheets of Chrome Cardstock
- 6 5.5" x 8.5" Sheets of Neon Cardstock
- Clay Snowflake Embellishments
- Prisma Glitter 0.5 oz.
This kit is valued at $75, but is an incredible deal at $34.99. It is available in limited quantities – grab yours before they are gone!
We're rocking the 1950's inspiration with the several optional add-on products this month, too! Want to see the products in action? When you visit any of these products in our store, you will see beautiful card ideas and inspiration.
In the 1950's, the country was dreaming about space and the possibility of someday sending a person there - so why not start with Santa?! We did just that with Out of This World Christmas and Out of this World Christmas Frame Cuts!
And the standalone dies this month are fun, too! Pop Art Fancy Dies definitely captures the vibe of the 1950's, and can be used for so much more than just the holidays!
And how fun is this 1950s Television Fancy Die? Use it for a TV. Or use it for a fireplace. Or use it to have a fireplace in your tv! But don't forget the rabbit ears!
And our final die, the gorgeous Ornament Pieces Cover Plate, perfect for covering an entire card front.
And last but certainly not least, two handy 3x4 stamp sets that come with coordinating dies - Merry Christmas Script Stamp & Cut and Happy Holidays Script Stamp & Cut. These essentials are useful in any decade!

Now let's take a look at the project Janette created with this month's kit!
Hello, my friends! Hero Arts has outdone themselves with this month's rad Holiday kit. It's retro style is super fun and the fonts are totally on point. I've had so many ideas I have created several cards. I can't wait to get in there to create even more. So awesome!
Begin by creating background on an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Dove White cardstock panel. Mask to create roadway and blend with Intensi-fied Black and Soft Granite inks. Mask hills (freehanded) and ink blend with Soft Sky. Mask to leave just the sky exposed and blend with Soft Sky, Indigo and Navy inks.
Stamp images on Hero's Dove White cardstock in Intens-ified Black and color with Copic markers. Die cut all images. Mask to add a few gifts to be seen in the backseat.
Dust ink blended sky with anti-static powder and then White Detail heat emboss sentiment. Arrange all die cuts and then use Press N' Seal to keep them all together as it is lifted and turned over. Add dimensional adhesive to the back of arrangement. Then adhere in place and remove Press N' Seal. Add a touch of Precision Glue behind any die cut that is not adhered solidly. Combine a drop or two of water and a drop of white acrylic paint and splatter all over card for a snowy look. I find a toothbrush gives the finest flakes!
I hope you all enjoy this kit as much as I have. I cannot wait to see what you create!
