My Monthly Hero – an update

A note from our CEO, Aaron Leventhal:

The Hero Arts Customer Super Power:  Kindness

I want to apologize again for the web store issues Hero Arts experienced around the launching of our My Monthly Hero program. Thank you for your unbending patience and understanding during the difficulties we experienced.

I have to recognize the generosity of heart and outpouring of support we received from all of you, as it was a truly amazing thing during our troubled technical times. Our customer service group and web teams were overwhelmed with calls and emails, technical issues and questions. Given it took us at times days to fix some of the issues, return phone calls and respond to emails, a responsible person might be frustrated, annoyed, and even angry. I would be! It is to be expected, as we hold ourselves to a standard of responding to customer questions within 24 hours or less, and we were not able to do so.

And yet, something absolutely wonderful happened instead:  During our darkest hours, we got an overwhelming outpouring of love and kindness. Despite annoying and unacceptable issues, customer after customer told us how they understand that things like this happen, thanked us for working hard to resolve things, and even apologized for any issues they created. Simply amazing! It made us feel like we were a part of a big supportive family that gave love and comforted us while we were down.

This experience shows how Hero Arts has absolutely the best customers and the best community a company could have. I can not even begin to tell you how much that means to me and to the Hero Arts team. What a blessing to have all of you in our lives. Thank you for everything you do, and just know, YOU are our Heroes.

Today is when we'd typically begin our Countdown to Creativity, leading up to the next My Monthly Hero release. But we've made the difficult decision to pause for a month. We'll be back on March 7 with a fabulous new kit! Until then, we are working hard to ensure the problems we've encountered during our previous launches are a thing of the past.

One of our very favorite things is to see the amazing things our customers do with our products! We love it when you tag your creations with #mymonthlyhero or #heroarts on social media, link to us on Facebook, upload to our Flickr group, or enter our contests (hint - another contest is coming very soon!). Today we chose a few of those beautiful cards to share with you. Keep sharing with us, and you may find your own creation here in the future!

This first card is from Lin. We love the watercolor look she gave the heart die from our January kit. And those added pearls are wonderful! She also shared a shaker card in that same blog post, so click over and check it out!

Lee Ann used our November kit to make a fun spinning card! We love how she masked and layered the elements of the kit. Visit her blog for a video tutorial on how she made the ornaments spin!

And back in October, Jan Tink wowed us with this stunner featuring our poinsettias from the October kit! There are so many wonderful details in this beautiful card!

These cards were created with previous My Monthly Hero kits, all of which are no longer available. But mark your calendars for March 4! We'll be back then to begin sharing the countdown to our March 7 release! The kit will be a partnership with another favorite member of our crafting community. We love the March kit and cannot wait to share it with you!
