June My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!!

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the June My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, June 4th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We will be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as the new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Jess for a first look at this fun beach vacation-inspired kit.

Good morning friends! Jess here with the first look at what is easily my most favorite My Monthly Hero kit of all time! I grew up in Virginia Beach and even though I live up in the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley now, I still consider myself a beach girl at heart! So when I saw this month's kit I fell head over heels in love! The kit is PACKED with product and the only thing I used on my card today that's not included in the kit is the white and black embossing powder, the two Copic markers I used, and my card base! ;) See, I told you there's a lot in there!

The kit contains this fabulous layering wave set and several ink cubes that layer together beautifully to create that realistic wave! I started by stamping the three wave layers with Soft Sky, Summer Sky, and Deep Ocean inks onto Snow layering paper. Then I used Post-it notes to mask off the waves. I pressed a Versamark pad all over the bottom of the panel and heat-embossed it with the sand embossing powder that's included in the kit. It has different shapes and colored crystals that create a really interesting texture!

Next I stamped the cute adirondack chairs included in the kit onto Snow layering paper and heat-embossed them with detail white embossing powder.  I wanted them to blend into the background so I added Copic dots in two shades of brown to the cardstock. I die-cut them with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the background with foam mounting tape. Then I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with detail black embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a fishtail banner and attached it to the background with foam mounting tape. Finally I trimmed the panel down to 4" by 5.25" and adhered it to a white card base. The perfect scene for a summer vacation!! ;)

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post!  We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, June 4th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern time. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!
