July My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway

Janette Kausen

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the July My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, July 13 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here all weekend sharing sneak peeks. Our staff at Hero Arts headquarters is back up and running at about 50% of our pre Covid-19 capacity. We continue to make significant progress through our shipping backlog and hope to be caught up very soon. Thank you for your kind patience and generous support as we traverse this hurdle together. This resolve gives us strength, and we send love and appreciation your way. At this time, we estimate that kits will begin shipping on Friday, July 17.

Now let's join Janette for the first beautiful look at this month's kit!

Hello, Hero friends! If there is one thing I am missing right about now, it is the freedom, vastness and endless beauty of the ocean. What I would give to have the sand between my toes, rinsing away with gentle lapping waves, a cool tropical drink in one hand, and a book in the other.

This. This is where I want to go. And while I can't get there quite yet, I can create it with ink, paper, and a fabulous deep ocean inspired Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit.

Create this project by stamping the kit color layering sea floor base in Soft Brown ink on Dove White cardstock. Allow to dry for the most crisp images and then stamp the second layer in a darker brown, Cup O'Joe. Heat emboss the final layer in the kit included coral embossing powder. Die cut reef.

Die cut underwater ruins from Dove White cardstock and ink blend with Blue Raspberry Reactive ink. On an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Dove White cardstock panel ink blend where the ocean meets the sky with kit included cube, Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink. Extend blending with Blue Raspberry, or kit included Splash or Pool Party Reactive ink cubes. Allow to dry.

White Detail heat emboss sentiment and horizon line. Sprinkle clear water over Reactive Ink blended panels for a water textured effect. Adhere layers together with foam tape for dimension, and then flat to a folded card base.

*** Win a kit before you can buy it *** Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, July 13, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

OMG, i am with you and am ready for my ocean fix. We love to cruise and with the virus it has been cancelled. I love this card, the colors are fabulous. It truly looks as if I am snorkeling and seeing the ruins underwater! Great job!

Love the use of the reactive ink in this design and the way that depth was created with the colour choices. Reminds me of scuba diving, which I really miss right now!

SO beautiful. Wish I was at the beach right now instead of a coronavirus hotspot!
