Galaxy Focal Point Inspired by Michelle Short
Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #18! We're challenging you to create a card inspired by a Hero Arts Creative Team member and I decided to get my inspiration from this beautiful card created by Michelle Short!
I loved her little galaxy focal point in an otherwise clean and simple card. Here's what I created!
I painted a galaxy using similar colors with liquid watercolors in Pink, Dark Teal, Mulled Wine, and Black. I painted several layers to build up the dimension and colors. When it was dry I splattered it with watered down white gouache to create lots of stars. Next I die-cut the Forest Sunset Fancy Die from two panels of Hero Hues Dove White cardstock. I left one panel as is and then pressed my Embossing & Watermark Ink Pad to the other panel. I heat-embossed the second panel with Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder and layered it behind the white card panel to give a little nod to Michelle's silver glitter stars!
I adhered the die-cut panels over the watercolored galaxy and then adhered that to a Top-Folding Hero Hues Dove White Card Base. I stamped a sentiment from Color Layering Sea and Sky onto Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Then I trimmed it down to a thin label. I added a tangle of black thread behind the sentiment and then adhered it to the panel to finish my card.
Big thanks to Michelle for her gorgeous and classy clean and simple inspiration!

That was fun… now it reminds me of the pictures that ask what is it?.. this or that. At first I saw a person with a big hat or under an umbrella bending over looking into something or planting. Took me a minute and then. Ohhhh….. that is so pretty ! Tee hee. A beautiful background (love the trees)! Happy New Year everyone… all of Hero Arts and the design team!
