Fall Colors for Summer Cards
When I was blessed with the opportunity to select a custom set of ink colors that I would use with the [hero_product_link sku="CL886" text="Color Layering Fall Trees"] set, I knew immediately that I would choose inks that reflected the changing colors of autumn leaves - Lemon Yellow, Tangerine, Strawberry, and Pumpkin Pie. However, what I love most about these warm colors is that the coordinated inks work beautifully for creating amazing designs for any season and with any stamps.
So, today I'm sharing a card set that I made using the [hero_product_link sku="AF354" text="Fall Colors"] ink pack with a fun selection of stamps and supplies. I started by stenciling three [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white"] cards with the [hero_product_link sku="SA076" text="Floral Pattern Stencil"] using [hero_product_link sku="AF354" text="Lemon Yellow, Tangerine, and Strawberry"] inks. By simply securing the card and stencil to my work surface, it was very easy to apply the ink through the stencil with a [hero_product_link sku="MI002" text="sponge dauber"]. I adore the modern look of these single color, graphic backgrounds - especially the gorgeous Strawberry red!
To embellish each card, I stamped a pair of butterflies from the [hero_product_link sku="CL867" text="Color Layering Butterflies"] set with the same [hero_product_link sku="AF354" text="Fall Colors"] inks and then cut out each image with the [hero_product_link sku="DI135" text="Color Layering Butterflies Frame Cuts"]. I glued the butterflies to [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white"] tags, stamped a sentiment from the [hero_product_link sku="CL978" text="Beach"] set with [hero_product_link sku="AF354" text="Pumpkin Pie"] ink along the lower tag edges, and then added a hole reinforcer that I colored with [hero_product_link sku="AF354" text="Pumpkin Pie"] ink to the top of each tag. For a bit of sparkle, I applied narrow strips of double-sided tape above the sentiments and covered them with fine, white glitter.
Next, I nestled a pair of [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white"] embossed, leafy branches from the [hero_product_link sku="CL949" text="You're So Lovely"] floral set behind the wings of each butterfly. I embossed the branches on vellum and then die cut them with the matching [hero_product_link sku="DI167" text="You're So Lovely Frame Cuts"]. The curved branches add softness to the bold design. Then, I added a panel of vellum behind the tags and adhered the tags to the card fronts with foam adhesive. I finished the cards by tying a simple, twine cord through each tag and adding a trio of small [hero_product_link sku="CH214" text="gems"].
I hope that you're inspired to use the new Color Layering 4-cube ink packs for all of your cards - with or without a Color Layering stamp set. The coordinated inks are certain to produce stunning results with all of your stamping supplies!
