Easy Felt Paperclips

Jun 24, 2016 Hero Arts Info

I was super excited to see the [hero_product_link sku="DI188" text="Fruit Salad Fancy Dies"] in the Summer 2016 catalog and after I got them in the mail I decided I wanted to decorate a couple jumbo paper clips to use as dividers in my planner and also as colorful bookmarks for the books I'm reading.

I mostly use my planner at home and I rarely take the actual books on vacations (I go with audio books instead and only read paper books at home), so I wasn't concerned about making these super durable.

I pulled out my colorful felt, paper and adhesive sheets and die cut 2 of each fruit. I added adhesive sheet to the back of my felt before die cutting it to make the final die cut sticky. For some fruits I used several colors of felt and I also added a paper layer in between the two felt layers. The latter made the fruity die cuts a lot more durable and it also helped to hide the shape of a paper clip (its top part) on the front of these.

To decorate my felt fruits I used various sequins and a few clear drops and I adhered those using Glossy Accents.

You can also cut these shapes out of colored cardstock, I think cutting them out of watercolor paper and loosely watercoloring would be super fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have fun creating!
