We are back with another look at the December My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Monday, December 4th at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more inspiration! Now let's join Michelle, who is sharing another look at the fabulous main kit, available on Monday!
Hello there, what a wonderful kit this month! As soon as I saw the palm tree image in the main stamp set, I knew I wanted to create a sunset with it!
I started off by taking a piece of white cardstock and cutting this using one of the Rectangle Infinity Dies. I then took a piece of mask paper and cut a heart from this using one of the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. Taking the negative piece, I added this on top of the cardstock panel and then blended inks inside the heart. I used Dandelion, Tangerine and Strawberry Bold Inks. The mask was removed to reveal the heart shaped sunset.
I took the palm tree from the stamp set, along with the sentiment and stamped these on to the panel using Black Ink. I then took a piece of black cardstock and added the stencil from the kit on top. I ran this through my die cutting machine to create an embossed image. Before removing the stencil, I applied black ink with an ink blending tool over the panel to create some more interest. The piece was added to a white A2 card base and then the image panel added on top with foam tape.

Good luck!
Beautiful ombré background creates stunning contrast with the black image and card stock.
Gorgeous!
Fabulous sunset card. Love the palm tree.
That silhouette tree look great over the sunset heart!
Black ink on black paper! I never thought of that. It gives such depth.
