Trends that are popular in clothing and home decor often carry over into the crafting world. Today I'm inspired by all the copper that is showing up in home decor and furnishings, so I've created a card that features our [hero_product_link sku="PW116" text ="Copper Embossing Powder"]. I've used it three different ways on this card -- can you spot all of them?

Copper Embossing by Kelly Rasmussen for Hero ArtsI started out by stamping the [hero_product_link sku="K6136" text="Antique Rose Stem"] and sentiment onto watercolor paper and copper heat embossing the images. Then I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in the image as well as create a light yellow wash of color in the background.

I simply applied VersaMark to the edges of a white cardstock panel and then heat embossed. You don't have to worry about doing the center area because it will never be seen. Such an easy way to create a coordinating mat!

And finally, I used the embossing powder to create my own copper embellishments. I took our [hero_product_link sku="CH187" text="Gold Metallic Decor"] and covered them with VersaMark, shook on some copper embossing powder and heat set until melted. So fun and a perfect match! I think the copper embossing gives a rich feel to this card and is a nice change from the standard gold and silver.

Thanks for joining me today!
