Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.
Hi and happy Wednesday friends! I’m Debi Adams and I’m glad to be here sharing two cards from the new add-ons for November’s My Monthly Hero release. I cannot believe that the holidays will be here very soon! Time to pull out the cardmaking supplies and get creating. I’ve really enjoyed all of the add-ons this month, having a hard time telling myself I only get to make one each, for now. Lol. I believe there is a style and look for everyone, whether you celebrate the holidays or not. Today I’m sharing two different cards. One is actually a gift too so there is an additional element for that someone you may want to gift a little something extra. So let’s look at them both side by side.
The first card is more of a modern, classic look with a soft pink background. My inspiration centered around my own fireplace and how I would decorate it with the decor elements. (Nope, I do not have pink walls, lol, but I do have a round mirror.)
Pretty easy to see how this card was made. The Fireplace Stamp & Cut XL was cut from Dove White and gold cardstock and set on top of white glitter paper. The rest of the stamped images were embossed in gold and embellished with a pale pink Copic marker and/or a white Uni-ball pen. The mirror used two sizes of the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies cut from gold and silver cardstock. So easy!
My second card actually holds a bag of hot chocolate on the inside. Makes for great stocking stuffers, office gifts, etc. It uses the Hug in a Mug Stamp & Cut XL set. (Currently sold out but we'll be getting more soon – sign up on the product page to be notified!)
The background was brushed lightly with Taffy Reactive Ink. All the other parts and pieces except the sentiment were cut from Dove White cardstock including the Snowflake Cluster Fancy Die in the background and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment onto Pebble cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The Snowflake Cluster was glued down first. I then added a small baggy of sprinkles. The remaining die cuts were attached to the base with foam dots. I stitched a little pocket to the inside of the card but you could use red tape to secure one too.
Hope you enjoyed today’s cards and that they provide you inspiration AND motivation to get going. Start early and you get to enjoy the journey. :).
XO,
