April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #6 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! This is the last look at the April My Monthly Hero Kit before tomorrow's release day on Monday, April 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Please note, this month shipping will be delayed as we work through delays during this time of COVID-19. Currently we estimate that shipping will begin April 20. We are sending love and support, as well as healing thoughts to those who know people who have fallen sick or are sick themselves.

Now let's join Janette for the final glimpse before the full reveal tomorrow!

Hiya, friends! Hero Arts nailed it this month with an "auss-ome" kit. Australia has been on my bucket list for ages and with all this staying at home business you can bet I have been daydreaming of it more than ever! I just kick my feet up, close my eyes and let Siri, voiced as an Australian man, tell me pretty much anything he wants... and then I'm usually jolted back to reality by one of my four kidlets who undoubtedly is hungry. Vegemite for you, I say!

Create this card by ink blending Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Fruit Punch and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks onto 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Dove White cardstock. Begin with Lemon Drop a bit larger than where the sun will be, and then into the darker shades. Taller skies can be created by stretching the stencil.

Secure the kit included stencil over the blended panel. Blend each of the same colors once again, this time over the stencil. Keep this second layer of blending just below the top border of the stencil.

Then, stretch your stencil by shifting it up off the top of the cardstock. The design will not align perfectly, but the effect remains. Blend remaining colors to pronounce  the pattern as done in the prior step. Remove stencil and splatter panel with water.

Either mask and solidly ink bottom of card with Intens-ified Black ink or trim bottom of card and adhere to Pitch Black cardstock. Stamp same kangaroo at slightly different angles to create the appearance of a jump.

White Detail heat emboss sentiment onto black base. Cut G'day Mate stamp or mask off G'day and stamp just the word mate onto a yellow-ish scrap. Trim down and pop up with dimensional adhesive. Adhere finished panel to folded card

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, April 6, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Last, I encourage you to mail these smiles-in-wait. The world could use a bit of sunshine and happiness these days.

Warm hugs,

  • Marilyn Musgrave

I want to hop along with the kangaroos and fade into the sunset with them. This is such an inspiration in these days of home boundness.

Thank you so much for your uplifting ideas. Each is a terrific positive moment.

Looking forward to this kit. This will be so much fun to play with and to let the creativity flow. I love the way you did the sunsets on your cards and cannot wait to try out the techniques.

This is one of my favorite cards. I love the playful kanaroos. I makes me think of my childhood when I would play leap frog with my friends. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us.
