A Scripted Holiday!

Sally Traidman

In my opinion, there's nothing more useful than a great woodblock message stamp! Today I'm using two large script holiday greetings from the Wintertime Fun release that make cardmaking a SNAP!

Let’s begin with Season’s Greetings Script. I stamped the message in Red Royal on Snow layering paper, then matted it in red. As an embellishment, I stamped the Color Layering Holly leaves and then die cut. For the centers, I simply die cut circles from the same red cardstock then added gems to the centers. Choosing the colors for the leaves was easy peasy with the coordinating inks (which also comes with red embossing powder!). The entire thing was attached to a Kraft notecard.

For the second card I first stamped Berry Background in red on red card stock. Next I stamped Merry Christmas Script in red onto white and attached both pieces to my card. For a festive card element, I used the Ornament Infinity Dies with printed green paper and as well as some super fun shiny gold cardstock from my stash. More red gems as well as green finished the card.

There's nothing like the smell of a fresh, new woodblock stamp. Who's with me on that?

Thanks for stopping by!

The large scripts are a must have!! I have been searching the craft stores for a large script for the holidays but have only been able to find smaller ones. Why are the bigger ones better? Because they would loudly declare MERRY CHRISTMAS and SEASONS GREETINGS to those of my family/friends who are either sight or hearing impaired. LOL. Must get the message out…it’s the best season of the year, right?

Sally what a beautiful simple card. They are both outstanding.

I can so relate to that wonderful smell and also the feel of the curved sides of the block that fingers fit so well to, the anticipation of projects yet to come, the shiny back of the block with the picture of promised image, the clean red (or grey!) rubber untouched by ink……. hmm think I might have given away my little addiction! Love the cards and I’ve got all the elements to make the second one so guess what I’m going to be spending my Saturday doing. Thank you Sally for such great inspiration x
