The Out and About Collection: A Beginner's Guide by Jean Manis
Hello! Jean Manis here sharing three projects that showcase the delightful Out and About Collection. Designed to work with the compact, yet powerful, Spellbinders Scout machine, these dies offer endless creative possibilities. The Out and About Collection includes a variety of dies that can be mixed in fun ways. In this blog post, I share card designs that are perfect for beginners.
Cut sentiment from cardstock and vellum with the Hello Smile die set. Adhere cardstock letters to vellum back. The Hello Smile set is ideal for beginners as the vellum backing makes placing the sentiment on the card easy.
Create a slimline card base from yellow cardstock and add dotted patterned paper strip for “ground.”
Tip: Use a paper cutter to create simple, straight horizon lines.
Add focal items to card base with foam adhesive and sentiment with dot adhesive.
With the next smaller size Essential Stylish Ovals die, cut dotted patterned paper With the same die, cut solid cardstock for the scene’s “ground.” Trim with paper cutter. Add ground to patterned paper piece and add to white oval mat.
Cut Hello Smile sentiment from cardstock and adhere to card.
Tip: Cut the Hello Smile sentiment from vellum and use the negative piece to line up the sentiment.
Add gnome, skateboard, and flower to the scene using dot and foam adhesive.
Create an A2-size card base from yellow cardstock. Add gray cardstock strip for the “ground.”
Add elements to the card base with dot and foam adhesive.
Tip: To enhance the scene, incorporate additional elements such as flowers from other die sets in the collection.
