I am truly thrilled to share some sweet and delightful stitched cards with Day 5 of the
12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar
for 2025. Cocoa and Christmas hold a special place in my heart for the Christmas Season. When I saw the charming cocoa cup behind the Day 5 door, it brought back such warm memories. My mom lovingly started the tradition of sending out cocoa cups filled with sweet treats for us to savor on Christmas morning. It fills me with pride to continue that beautiful tradition, sending joyful cocoa-filled packages to all my sisters and their families.
COCOA CHEER
I love the soft colors of
Chiffon
and
Seaside
Cardstock; they both go beautifully with the
Pomegranate
and
Truffle
Cardstock and are my go-to colors for this year's Christmas cards. I thought the postage die set from Day 4 would be the perfect setting behind my cocoa mug.
Instead of stitching the postage edge, I wrapped the same
Vivant Gold Metallic Cord
around them to pull in the gold trees that I stitched with the same cord on the mug.
TIP:
Die cut the marshmallows with Spellbinders white Pop-UP Foam, they look realistic and add lots of dimension!
DOUBLE THE DELIGHT
I love that you can create a drippy cocoa cup and a regular filled cup. For this card, I did both, only adding the gold stitching to the right cup. This die is easy to flip and create a right and left-facing mug. On the right, I added marshmallows, and the left (the flipped one) I created a drippy cup with whip cream. The peppermint straw was the perfect touch!
I created a present wrapped panel to place my mugs on with red and white twine on
Fog
cardstock. I stamped and heat-embossed a pattern with the Hero Arts Woodgrain Bold Print stamp. My greeting for this card was made easy with Hero Arts Rub-On Transfers.
